My Problems with Bitcoin

I truly hate Bitcoin. It’s not that Bitcoin in itself is something detestable, it is just the amount of energy that goes into mining one. Today, Bitcoin mining energy consumption is about as high as that of the whole Internet, ex Bitcoin. Just imagine – some people think that generating hashes is a valuable as the Internet, with all its businesses, information, trade, entertainment- you name it. Image you’d be given the choice: the Internet OR Bitcoin. I wonder if Bitcoin without Internet is even thinkable, but hey, you can either ‘do Bitcoin’ OR stream stuff, buy stuff on some online store, use all those messengers, Facebook and derivatives, research, have Alexa wake you up…. what would you choose?
